All Nigel Program residents are under the medical care of a community general practitioner (GP). The physician may visit the resident at Nigel House or the resident may also go out to see their physician or other medical or surgical specialists at hospital out-patient clinics or in community medical offices.
The Nigel Program has a Medical Coordinator who oversees the quality of medical care. A psychiatrist visits clients of the Nigel Program at intervals to provide specialized consultations for residents with mental health problems upon referral from the client's GP.
